Based on input from 102 business leaders across industries and company sizes, this edition of <\/span><\/span><strong><em><span class=\"TextRun SCXW151979823 BCX0\" lang=\"EN-US\" xml:lang=\"EN-US\" data-contrast=\"auto\"><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW151979823 BCX0\">The<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW151979823 BCX0\"> Pulse of Greater Boston Business<\/span><\/span><\/em><span class=\"TextRun SCXW151979823 BCX0\" lang=\"EN-US\" xml:lang=\"EN-US\" data-contrast=\"auto\"><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW151979823 BCX0\"> series<\/span><\/span><\/strong>\u00a0reveals that most local businesses are maintaining steady operations and a pragmatic outlook for the holiday season.<\/p>\n<p>Nearly half of surveyed organizations plan to remain fully open through late December and early January, while about a quarter (26%) will fully shut down between Christmas and New Year&#8217;s. Only a small share are shifting to reduced schedules or partial closures, underscoring a <strong>preference for continuity<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>83% of respondents report their holiday operating plans are \u201cabout the same\u201d compared to last year, with just 6% scaling back and 8% becoming more active. This consistency extends to holiday celebrations: 61% of companies are hosting events at a similar scale to last year, while 10% are still hosting at a smaller scale. While 17% of organizations are offering traditional holiday bonuses, the majority (57%) shared that they do not typically provide holiday incentives, and a small group is reducing or opting out of bonuses this year, primarily citing budget pressures.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Revenue expectations reflect cautious optimism<\/strong>. One-third of businesses expect sales to be about the same as last year, with 20% anticipating a slight increase and 24% expecting lower revenue.
