Multi Line Text Required to answer \">\n<div class=\"-yk-747 \" data-automation-id=\"questionContent\">\n<div class=\"-CP-269 \">\n<div class=\"--j_-291\">\n<p>Founded in 2003, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.empowerpeace.org\/\">Empower Peace<\/a> provides the next generation with the opportunities and tools needed to build leadership skills, cultural competencies, advance mutual respect and understanding, to promote peace and to confront the issues of today.<\/p>\n<p>We are proud to introduce Chamber members to our organization on this International Day of the Girl. The Women2Women International Leadership Program (W2W) is a program of Empower Peace developed to provide rising young female leaders with the skills needed to succeed in our global community. W2W builds a network of promising young women from around the globe, engages them in the issues that define their lives, and provides them with the tools, relationships and opportunities required to lead. Each summer, emerging female leaders from around the world, ages 15-19 years, gather in Boston for this 10-day life-changing experience. W2W faculty is composed of experienced professors and lecturers from some of the most prestigious colleges and universities in the world, business executives, government and civic leaders. The purpose of the program is to train leaders in the areas of leadership development, entrepreneurism, and communications, with a focus on building a strong sense of cultural competency.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"---j-716 \" aria-label=\"4. Please describe your business in a few sentences. Multi Line Text Required to answer \">\n<div class=\"-yk-747 \" data-automation-id=\"questionContent\">\n<h3><strong>Can you share a memorable success story or milestone related to your business?<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>As we approach our 20th anniversary in 2026, we have been reflecting on the impact our program has had on the young women who participate, and the ripple effect on their communities. Over the past several years, we have strengthened our Massachusetts delegation with phenomenal young leaders. One story that stands out is that of an alumna from Southbridge, MA who is of Haitian descent and lived in Haiti for several years. She shared that \u201cWomen2Women meant freedom\u201d to her.<\/p>\n<p>Because of the confidence she built and the cross-cultural connections she made at Women2Women, she decided to tackle the issue of sexual assault in her community by working with a local nonprofit. This young woman hosted the nonprofit at her school to talk about consent. We are so proud of her and our 4,400 alumnae from around the world sparking change by advancing social justice causes in their communities.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>How is your business involved in the local community?<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Women2Women has many strong community partnerships. Hosted for the last several two years at Emerson College, we work with faculty from the college to instruct our young leaders on topics such as battling imposter syndrome, public speaking, and using social media for social good. We are also fortunate to have representatives from the Harvard Kennedy School, Harvard Law School and Babson College speak to our delegates each year.<\/p>\n<p>For more than 20 years, we have partnered with U.S. Embassies and our W2W alumnae from 93 countries to recruit emerging female leaders worldwide. In recent years, we have placed special emphasis on securing sponsorships for young women from underrepresented backgrounds in Boston and beyond. We work closely with organizations like Girls Inc. of Greater Lowell, the Massachusetts Teachers Association and G.R.O.W. (Girls Reflecting Our World) to include promising, dynamic young women who would benefit the most from an opportunity as transformative as Women2Women<\/p>\n<h3><strong>What sets your business apart from others in your industry?<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>What sets us apart from other youth leadership programs is our focus on \u201cleadership in action.\u201d Each summer, our delegates engage in networking, skills-building, and leadership development and at the end, they each put together an Action Plan on a social justice issue in their home community that they are passionate about. This is a crucial part of the program because it gives the young leaders the opportunity to be agents of change and really make a difference using the skills they\u2019ve gained. We estimate that over the last 20 years, the Women2Women action plans have reached up to 30,000 people in communities across Massachusetts, the country, and the world.<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, we have a strong focus on cultural competency. We often have up to 25 countries represented in our annual summer program and we foster opportunities for them to create cultural bridges by assigning them to small groups with girls from different cultures and religions. We also host \u201ccultural presentations\u201d on several nights of the program where the young women have the chance to share about their country and culture, expanding the worldview of the other delegates. Women2Women is a once-in-a-lifetime experience that we hope more Massachusetts leaders will be able to take advantage of as we continue our work to empower the next
