The survey&#8217;s main objective was to gain insight into the attitudes and perspectives of young residents towards the region, alongside understanding their core values and priorities professionally and personally. <\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559685&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:279}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><em>Here, we dive into some of the key findings regarding the current quality of life among young residents.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<h4><b><i><span data-contrast=\"none\">Should I Stay or Should I Go<\/span><\/i><\/b><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559685&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:279}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/h4>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">The survey uncovered some fascinating insights into young residents\u2019 daily lives and future plans. The good news is, <\/span><b><span data-contrast=\"none\">89% of respondents reported satisfaction with their day-to-day life<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"none\"> in this vibrant region, across race and gender lines.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559685&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:279}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">However, when it comes to making decisions about staying in Greater Boston, certain key factors emerge as crucial. Job availability, the cost of rent, and the prospect of buying a home are the top concerns for young residents looking to establish their lives and careers here. Of the survey respondents, 87% prioritize job availability, while 83% express concern about the cost of rent, and 78% are keen on the ability to purchase a home.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559685&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:279}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">Despite the overall contentment with life in Greater Boston, there is a concerning trend. <\/span><b><span data-contrast=\"none\">25% of young residents are considering leaving the city within the next five years<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"none\">, potentially impacting the region&#8217;s vitality as individuals seek more affordable alternatives elsewhere.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559685&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:279}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">Of the young residents who responded to questions about their plans to leave, responses vary across different identities. While a considerable 76% of millennial women and 77% of Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) individuals expressed intentions to stick around, a concerning 35% of Black women and 31% of LGBTQ+ individuals indicated a higher likelihood of leaving the region.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559685&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:279}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">What&#8217;s particularly striking is the differing priorities among these groups. Parents, for instance, seem to have an easier time building community, with 60% reporting so. The survey makes it clear that factors like <\/span><b><i><span data-contrast=\"none\">entertainment options<\/span><\/i><\/b><span data-contrast=\"none\">, <\/span><b><i><span data-contrast=\"none\">transportation<\/span><\/i><\/b><span data-contrast=\"none\">, and <\/span><b><i><span data-contrast=\"none\">achieving a healthy work-life balance<\/span><\/i><\/b><span data-contrast=\"none\"> can either facilitate or hinder community-building efforts in Greater Boston.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559685&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:279}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">Respondents who reported <\/span><i><span data-contrast=\"none\">difficulty<\/span><\/i><span data-contrast=\"none\"> in community-building highlighted the importance of having more entertainment options (46%) and improved transportation (35%) as potential solutions to make building connections easier for them. These insights underscore the multifaceted nature of community-building and the diverse needs of residents across different areas throughout Greater Boston.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4><b><i><span data-contrast=\"none\">What\u2019s the T(ea)?\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/b><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559685&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:279}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/h4>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">Transportation continues to be a key area that affects quality of life concerns in Greater Boston. <\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559685&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:279}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">For those 25% of young residents who plan to leave in the next five years and those 11% who reported being dissatisfied with day-to-day life here, a notable commonality emerged: <\/span><b><span data-contrast=\"none\">transportation challenges<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"none\">. It&#8217;s clear that these individuals face difficulty with transportation at significantly higher rates \u2013\u00a0of those who reported dissatisfaction living in Greater Boston, 33%\u00a0reported a negative experience with transportation versus 23%\u00a0for the average respondent.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559685&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:279}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">The survey results also delve deeper into transportation patterns: young residents of color reported relying on public transit more heavily than others.
