By limiting the efforts to diversify campuses across the country, employers will have a less diverse pipeline for the recruitment and hiring of employees. More diverse teams and workplaces \u2013 in every industry \u2013 are more productive and profitable, and a workplace culture that is fortified by the pillars of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI), and environmental, social, and governance (ESG) principles are stronger and more successful.<\/p>\n<p>As higher education institutions wrestle with next steps for their admissions processes, it is imperative that as business leaders we ensure investments in and the elevation of our ESG and DEI initiatives to remind our workforce, Board members, and all stakeholders of our ongoing commitment to equity.<\/p>\n<p>As for the Chamber, we will continue to champion economic inclusion and equitable commerce. Ensuring equity requires strategic action. Join us.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Hire <a href=\"https:\/\/bostonchamber.com\/networks\/ma-apprentice-network\/\">apprentices<\/a>, as you focus on skills development, and hiring that centers equity,<\/li>\n<li>Utilize <a href=\"https:\/\/bostonchamber.com\/networks\/pacesetters\/\">supplier diversity<\/a> that deepens partnerships with businesses of color,<\/li>\n<li>Train <a href=\"https:\/\/bostonchamber.com\/learning-and-development\/\">your workforce<\/a>, especially your managers, and<\/li>\n<li>Champion <a href=\"https:\/\/bostonchamber.com\/events\/2023-fierce-urgency-of-now-festival\/\">the next generation<\/a> of leaders to ensure transformative access and connections.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Our member, Morgan, Lewis &amp; Bockius LLP, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/legal\/legalindustry\/dei-esg-preparing-supreme-court-ruling-race-based-decision-making-2023-05-03\/\">outlined how employers<\/a> can be vigilant and protect their diversity initiatives in light of the Supreme Court\u2019s decision.<\/p>\n<p>Massachusetts has always led the way in historic steps forward, and our business community is no different.
